B986 – Milkingpen Lane - Carriageway Resurfacing

As part of the annual programme of works being undertaken by Operation Resilience we will shortly be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works in Milkingpen Lane, Old Basing, from the junction with Manor Lane to Church Street.

The works are programmed to start on Wednesday 20th April and expected to last for up to 3 days, during which time the road will be closed to through traffic, from approximately 09:00 -16.30hrs each day. A signed diversion will be in place, and the road will be open outside of these hours.

Whilst every effort is made to adhere to the published programme dates there may be times when we have to postpone works at very short notice, e.g. because of poor forecasted weather. We will always endeavour to provide you with up to date information, but sometimes these last minute decisions can be difficult to relay to residents and road users in a timely manner. The dates will be updated on the yellow sign boards located at each end of the site so the travelling public and local residents are aware.

In order to help us to complete the work as quickly as possible, please ensure that no vehicles are parked on the road on the days of the resurfacing. Please be aware any vehicles left parked on the road that prevent the works taking place, face the risk of being removed.

For your safety and that of our workforce, if you are located within the extents of the road closure we are unable to guarantee vehicular access to and from your property

during working hours. Should you need to make an essential journey, please contact a member of the workforce on site in advance and they will be able to advise if they can accommodate your request. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

The surfacing operation uses a separate bitumen layer in addition to the new asphalt carriageway surface. In order to avoid potential injury or damage, please do not walk across the carriageway during the works unless directed by a member of the workforce.

Thank you for your co-operation and if you need more information regarding these works, you can using any of the options below.
