HM GOVERNMENT - New Restrictions - TIER 4

Published: 26 December 2020

The Government has announced that from today, Saturday 26 December, Basingstoke and Deane will be in Tier 4: stay at home restrictions. A graphic outlining the key restrictions is below.

This follows the Prime Minister’s announcement of the introduction of tighter COVID-19 restrictions to help curb the spread of a new variant of coronavirus in some parts of the country and is a reflection of the seriousness of the situation, and the rapidly rising infection rates across our county, as well as the impact on our local hospitals.

There is Government advice relating to all Tiers. There is additional guidance is for everyone who has been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable. People in this group will previously have received a letter from the NHS or from their GP telling them this. They may have been advised to shield in the past.

The next review of COVID-19 tiers by Government is expected to be on Wednesday 30 December.
