PARISH COUNCIL - New Swing Swang Lane Development

Published: 16 December 2020

Redrow Homes present the Reserved Matters proposal for the construction of 100 houses at Land at Swing Swang Lane, Basingstoke. The application is submitted following approval of outline application 17/02846/OUT.

The proposed development has been designed reflective of the local character, taking design cues from the Old Basing Conservation Area and being constructed using a variety of materials, with a dominance of red brick to many of the buildings. The proposal encompasses a large expanse of open space; including a kick about area, a central green space and an informal play area. The layout respects existing local biodiversity by retaining and protecting a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation comprising of an area of wall bedstraw.

The proposal responds to the sloping topography of the site and provides appropriate drainage measures to ensure that there is no increase in flood risk to the local area, or additional surface water falling onto Basing Road.

Redrow would be interested in discussing the proposal in more detail with members of the public. Should you have any comments, please contact Tilly Whishaw at tilly.whishaw@redrow.co.uk
