About Our Cemetery

Old Basing Cemetery is a peaceful and well-maintained burial ground serving the parish of Old Basing and Lychpit. The cemetery provides a tranquil setting for remembrance and reflection, set within the historic landscape of north-east Hampshire.

The cemetery provides both traditional burial plots in the main grounds and a dedicated Garden of Remembrance, intended for the interment of ashes. This area provides a quiet, contemplative space for families wishing to commemorate loved ones in a natural and serene environment.

Inspection Dates for 2026

The site is maintained by the Parish Council, ensuring it remains a respectful and cared-for environment throughout the year.

Inspections take place four times a year in March, May, July and October to uphold standards and preserve the dignity of the grounds.

 

Garden of Remembrance

The Garden of Remembrance at Old Basing Cemetery is a serene and carefully maintained space dedicated solely to the interment of ashes. The garden is thoughtfully divided into sections, allowing families to select a preferred resting place for their loved ones.

The garden features flat commemorative plaques and simple floral tributes.
