Old Basing & Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan Review 2026 - Regulation 14

Old Basing & Lychpit Parish Council undertook a Regulation 14 (Pre-Submission) consultation for the updated Old Basing & Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan from Monday 26 January 2026 to Thursday 12 March 2026.

Following this consultation, the Parish Council agreed the final draft updated plan and sent it to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council.

What is changing?

  • No new strategic housing allocations: overall spatial strategy retained
  • Clearer structure and renumbering of policies
  • New Local Gap policy to protect the Loddon Valley and prevent coalescence
  • Updated design policies supported by a new Design Code
  • Refined policies on Local Green Spaces, views, heritage, housing mix, movement routes and developer contributions

Old Basing & Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan 2015-2029

The Old Basing and Lychpit Neighbourhood Plan 2015-2029 was 'made' at Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council on 19 July 2018. The Plan forms part of the Development Plan for the parish and is used to guide planning decisions in Old Basing and Lychpit.

Hard copies of these documents can be viewed at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council offices between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and at Basingstoke Discovery Centre and Chineham Library during their normal opening times.
