Basingstoke Camera Club
Website: https://www.basingstokecameraclub.co.uk/
Basingstoke Camera Club (BCC) is an active and long-established club for the promotion, encouragement and enjoyment of all branches of photography. We are a lively and thriving club supporting photographers of all levels from beginner to expert who all share a passion for creating wonderful images. The membership covers a wide range of ages, backgrounds and photographic interests.
Almost everyone enjoys taking photographs these days. However, if you want to develop your skills and take more satisfying photographs, joining a camera club is an excellent step. New members are always very welcome in BCC; come along to a couple of meetings and sample what we have to offer before you decide whether to join.
You don't have to be an 'Expert Photographer' to be welcomed as a member of BCC. All you need is an interest in photography. Our aim is to encourage you to develop your interest and skills, as well as to provide a place to meet a range of friendly people who share your interest. The only equipment you will need is a camera, any camera, and a real interest in taking pictures with it. Nowadays all cameras, from smartphones up to the more expensive cameras for enthusiasts, can take excellent images if you understand how to make best use of what you have. There is a lot of practical help at hand; most members are only too happy to share their expertise.
The Club runs a programme of talks, competitions, practical sessions, outings and social events, with regular weekly meetings from September to May. We meet at Oakridge West Community Centre Thursdays at 7:45. For more details please visit our website.

As the guardian of the Basingstoke Canal, the Society promotes and campaigns for the sustainable future of the Canal as a navigation. Through the John Pinkerton Canal Cruises operation, it also raises money which is used to fund maintenance and improvement works undertaken by Society voluntary work parties. Although the canal no longer reaches Basingstoke, the Society is proposing the creation of a footpath from the current head of navigation to Basingstoke town centre following most of the original line of the canal.

Old Basing Village Nursery School is an Ofsted Registered Early Years Setting for pre-school children aged from 2 years to 5 years; run by a fully qualified primary school teacher and situated within the beautiful surroundings of the Old Basing Village Hall.
Our indoor space comprises of two rooms which are light and spacious where children can fully explore the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Our inside space is set out in the following zones; role play, curiosity, quiet area, creative area and small world and our children explore the areas freely at their own pace. Our highly skilled practitioners use 'in the moment' planning to observe and interact with the children using their interests and development areas as a starting point for teaching. Outside, we have a large, natural garden adjacent to Oliver's Battery Nature reserve where the children can explore our construction area, mud kitchens, wooden climbing frame, slide, den building area and bug hotel.
We take our inspiration from Maria Montessori and Fredrick Froebel but do not operate with one sole theorist in mind; instead, we use our experience as practitioners to select ideas that work for the children in our care and to help to nurture them as they develop within an environment that meets their emerging needs as well as to meet the requirements for the Statutory Early Year's Curriculum. At Old Basing Village Nursery School the child is at the heart of all we do - that's why we pride ourselves on our highly reflective approach, parent partnerships and well-considered, ever-evolving environment.
We do operate a waiting list system therefore early enquiries are encouraged. Please don't take our word for it - come and see for yourself and book a visit by contacting owner manager Victoria on 07557642510 or via email oldbasingvillagenurseryschool@gmail.com.
